Function and area of use
Self-service kiosks combine a touchscreen with payment and goods dispensing. This can be a vending machine with a Dispensing mechanism , a locker system or an open shop with self-checkout. The customer chooses from the menu, pays cashless or in cash and receives the goods.
Kiosks are common in railway stations, hotels, clinics, canteens and retail. They relieve staff and extend availability beyond opening hours.
