Vending machines for farm shops: selling eggs, milk and vegetables around the clock
29 September 2026Not every company has a canteen, and anyone working shifts often finds nothing to eat at night. A Vending machine in the break room supplies your team around the clock with snacks, drinks, coffee or hot meals. This guide shows which solution suits which company size, how restocking and payment work, and what to consider before buying.
Which vending machines are suitable for companies
| Solution | Typical offer | Net price |
|---|---|---|
| Snack and drinks vending machine | Bars, crisps, soft drinks, water | €4,800 to €13,500 |
| Coffee vending machine with grinder | freshly ground coffee, cocoa, tea | €7,000 to €8,500 |
| Fresh food vending machine and micro market | Sandwiches, salads, yoghurt, fruit | €6,500 to €16,000 |
| Smart Fridge | Open the door, take the goods, automatic billing | €5,000 to €15,000 |
| Vending machine for hot meals | Daily dishes and ready meals with integrated microwave | €6,000 to €17,500 |
As a rule of thumb, a compact snack and drinks vending machine or a coffee vending machine is often enough for small teams. From a few dozen employees, a combination of drinks, snacks and coffee pays off. If you want to replace a canteen, you also need fresh or hot meals.
Operate it yourself or have it restocked
If you buy the vending machine, you decide on the range and prices yourself. Restocking is then handled by an employee, a local service provider or, on request, VendSpot. You are not tied to any particular supplier of goods.
Payment: card, smartphone or employee ID
In companies, cashless payment is the norm. Depending on the model, card terminals accept Girocard, credit and debit cards as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Many companies also use existing employee cards with an RFID chip, through which credit or reduced prices can be billed. More on this in the guide Card payment on vending machines.
Employer subsidy
Many companies offer the products in the vending machine at a reduced price to support their team. This is a popular way of retaining employees. Whether and how a subsidy is to be treated as a benefit in kind for tax purposes is best clarified with your tax adviser.
Space, power and installation
- Check floor space and door widths; larger vending machines weigh several hundred kilograms
- Plan a dedicated socket nearby, and for hot meals an adequately fused circuit
- For coffee vending machines, clarify whether a water connection is needed or whether a tank is sufficient
- Keep escape routes clear and coordinate the installation with your occupational safety specialist
Service in everyday operation
If the vending machine breaks down, the whole workforce notices. VendSpot offers support Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, remote maintenance, technicians on site and, for customers, a free emergency service on Saturdays until 6 pm. More on this on our page Service and technicians.
Buy or lease
In the shop, you buy every vending machine directly by bank transfer, direct debit or invoice. Leasing is available on request through our partner leasing companies; financing always requires a 50% down payment. The guide gives an overview of acquisition and running costs: How much does a vending machine cost?
