Location analysis (vending)
18 January 2026Taxes & accounting (vending)
18 January 2026Maintenance covers all regular measures for function testing, cleaning and technical upkeep of a vending machine, to ensure maximum reliability and service life.
Function and area of use
A vending machine that does not work does not earn money. Regular maintenance prevents costly emergency call-outs. This includes technical checks of the motors, cleaning the cooling fins (removing dust eliminates the fire risk and saves electricity), updating the software and calibrating the Coin validator.
With food vending machines in particular, maintenance is closely linked to hygiene. VendSpot recommends maintenance intervals depending on use (usually every six or twelve months). Thanks to remote maintenance, many technical checks can now be carried out digitally before a technician needs to be physically on site.
Advantages
- Maximum uptime of the vending machine for consistent revenue
- Lower energy costs thanks to clean cooling systems
- Early detection of wear parts (Predictive Maintenance)
- Ensuring hygiene standards (HACCP)
- Avoiding customer frustration caused by jammed spirals
- Preserving the machine’s value for possible resale
Technical details
Checking compressor cycles, testing infrared light barriers, lubricating moving parts of the Dispensing mechanism, backing up configuration data.
Frequently asked questions
Can I carry out maintenance myself?
Simple cleaning and software updates can often be done by the operator. For technical work on the cooling or electronics, VendSpot recommends qualified personnel.
How do I know when maintenance is due?
In addition to fixed intervals, modern vending machines issue warnings via telemetry (e.g. increased motor temperature).
