Tool vending machine
18 January 2026Locker system
18 January 2026A Key vending machine is a secure handover system for physical keys or key cards. It enables contactless key handover and return between service providers and customers around the clock.
Function and area of use
The key vending machine has many small, individually secured compartments. The customer receives a PIN code in advance (by text message or email), enters it at the machine, and the corresponding compartment opens. When returning, the key is simply placed in a secure drop slot or a free compartment.
The main areas of use are hotels and holiday apartments (late check-in), car rental companies, car workshops and fleet management in companies. For estate agents or care services, too, the key vending machine offers a secure solution for key management without being physically present on site.
Thanks to the online connection, operators can generate or delete codes remotely and monitor the access history in real time. This massively increases security compared with simple mechanical key safes.
