Vending machine range
2 October 2026Food inspection at the vending machine
2 October 2026Anyone selling food via a vending machine must ensure that customers can see the mandatory information and allergens before buying.
Function and area of use
For pre-packaged goods, the mandatory information under the Food Information Regulation is on the packaging. You must ensure that it is complete and legible. If food is dispensed unpackaged or freshly prepared, such as pizza, French fries or speciality coffees, allergens and additives requiring labelling must be stated separately.
In practice, this is done with a sign on the vending machine or directly in the ordering menu on the touchscreen. The food inspection authority at the location is responsible for the details.
