Remote maintenance (remote management) describes the ability to access the software and control system of a vending machine via an internet connection in order to run diagnostics, change prices or install software updates.

The operator or technician logs into the vending machine via a secure online portal. This allows error messages to be analysed before a technician has to be on site. Adjusting cooling temperatures, changing prices on the touchscreen or unlocking blocked compartments can also be done conveniently from a desk.
